Beyond Boundaries: Haifa’s Musical Kaleidoscope · interactive museum experience
About the work
A museum identity becomes a place to enter, move through and listen. Museum of Music brings together a visual identity, an exhibition environment and interactive listening tools.
Its first exhibition, Beyond Boundaries: Haifa’s Musical Kaleidoscope, follows the relationship between voice, image, performance and musical memory. Visitors arrive at a front desk, collect a free digital ticket and explore a dark gallery of moving-image works and listening stations.
Developed from Alex’s original Levant Museum of Art proposal for MICA’s Visual Identity Systems course, the project retains its overlapping circular mark and original condensed lettering. The music-note adaptation belongs to the exhibition; the orbit remains the museum’s signature.
Approach the front desk, choose your visit, collect a ticket and enter. Explore two listening studies and five further encounters with Haifa’s moving-image work.
Alex developed the museum’s identity, exhibition concept, graphic applications, spatial environment and interactive listening experience. The project connects visual design with research into performance, production and the circulation of musical references.

The orbit, original lettering and exhibition-specific note: a consistent identity across print and space.
The orbit remains the signature
The Museum of Music grows from the original Levant Museum of Art course proposal. Its overlapping circles remain the institutional mark: a continuous identity that can frame different subjects without becoming a different logo for each exhibition.
Museum of Music — original orbit and letter outlines
Original lettering, new name
MUSEUM / OF MUSIC retains the original VinylOT-Regular letter outlines. Use the supplied vector master rather than recreating the wordmark with a substitute condensed font. Keep the mark’s proportions and the relationship between symbol and lettering intact.
An exhibition within the identity
The music-note adaptation belongs to music-related exhibition communication. It does not replace the circular institutional signature. Beyond Boundaries: Haifa’s Musical Kaleidoscope develops this relationship across the entrance, wall graphics, labels and listening stations.
Color, contrast and space
The digital exhibition uses a dark architectural ground, light typography and restrained luminous accents. The moving image carries the strongest color. Give the identity clear surrounding space; keep labels readable and avoid placing delicate linework over busy footage.
Listening as an interaction
The two listening stations turn attention toward Mazzika Hadia and Lok Lok. Their tablets combine live waveforms, frequency listening, repeated phrases, performance notes and musical-reference studies. Frequency filters act on the full mix; they do not isolate instrument stems.
