A self-initiated project
Alex developed the signage as part of his Multimedia Technician and Graduate Program Assistant role. He designed the cards for the program’s rooms and shared resources, and they were printed and used in the spaces.
A self-initiated signage system for Mount Royal School of Art at MICA. The printed cards identified shared spaces, supplies and equipment, with directions for their everyday use and return.

Shared equipment
Large words, pictograms and directional chevrons identify supplies and the places where shared equipment belongs. Return signs distinguish the ladder, cart, gallery paint and studio paint.
Typography & colour
The designs use yellow and violet across tall supply signs, compact landscape labels and a kitchen guide. Montserrat lettering, repeated symbols and consistent placement connect the different formats.
