Dining-room concept · art-direction collage by Alex Dahdah and Yara Hitti
A 1960s family-restaurant concept developed with Yara Hitti for an LAU art-direction course. The unbuilt design takes shape through a period palette, interior collages and prop selections.

Alex and Yara Hitti developed the concept and moodboard together, extending the restaurant’s visual character from the dining room to its table settings and restroom.
Process
The low-budget restaurant brief sets the scale of the proposal. Colour and furniture references establish a 1960s setting through yellow, blue-green and warm accents, patterned surfaces and mixed materials.
Process
Successive collages introduce the walls, door, window and floor before adding lighting, furniture and props. Plain and annotated versions show both the overall composition and its individual elements.
Process
Mismatched coloured chairs, a blue table, patterned plates and coloured cutlery carry the palette into everyday use. A telephone, radio, vases and pendant lights add smaller points of character.
Process
A separate restroom collage tests the same approach with green and pale floor tiles, pink fixtures and a round mirror. It completes the proposal’s treatment of the restaurant’s different spaces.
